In Paris, in 1936, Eugène Mavromati, a chemical engineer, made a discovery that completely changed the course of modern cosmetics.  This discovery led to the creation of Matis, the pioneering French anti-ageing brand. 

An expert in active ingredients and formulations, Eugène Mavromati discovered that products were even more effective when they were combined as part of an overall skincare approach. He fully understood that chemistry and science are not enough. 

Products need to be combined with sensory and emotional dimensions to achieve their full potential.
